Case studies · Cozy Flammes

Helping a handmade candle shop answer “when will it arrive, and what will it cost?”

Cozy Flammes makes molded candles, candle bouquets and seasonal sets, with a choice of scents and sizes, and sells them across Pakistan. We rebuilt the Shopify storefront so shoppers see delivery timing and their subtotal while choosing, get a clear cart with prices, and can reach the shop on WhatsApp from any page.

Small-batch candles, chosen by scent and size

Cozy Flammes' old announcement bar read “Spreading Light & Love Since 2023.” The Shop All collection lists 144 products, from Rs. 100 mini candles to candle bouquets priced in the thousands. Many products come in several scent and colour combinations and sizes, and the shop runs gift-led ranges such as Mothers Day, Valentines and candle bouquets.

For a gift, delivery timing and the final price matter as much as the design. The store needed to make those clear while shoppers choose, and to look as finished and trustworthy as the candles themselves.

What was getting in the shopper's way

  1. 01

The cart confirmation didn't show a price

After adding the Ghost Glow Candle, a small popup confirmed the scent and size but showed no price, no subtotal and no total.

Gift shoppers often add several small candles. Without a running total, they have to open the full cart page to see what they're spending.

  2. 02

Nothing near the buttons about when it would arrive

The product page had the price, two dropdowns, a quantity box, an outlined Add to cart and a pale pink Buy it now. There was no delivery estimate on the page. The only delivery answer on the site was inside a homepage FAQ.

Someone buying a candle for a specific date needs to know it'll arrive in time, ideally before they click Add to cart.

  3. 03

Template placeholder reviews on the homepage

The homepage “customer reviews” carousel had two real-looking quotes, followed by five identical cards reading “Amazing product! So beautiful and smells incredible.” and signed “Customer Name.”

Visitors who spot template text in a reviews section may start doubting the real reviews too.

  4. 04

No direct line to the shop

The footer had page links, social icons and policies. There was no phone number, WhatsApp number or email address there or anywhere in the header.

Questions about custom scents, colours or bulk orders are common for a handmade shop, and shoppers had no quick way to ask them.

  5. 05

A header that filled much of the first screen

The announcement bar, logo, separate menu row and scrolling payment notice added up to roughly 275 pixels before any content started.

On every page, that pushed the candles further down the screen.

Five changes that make ordering a gift feel certain

All observations are from the desktop version of each theme.

  1. 01 · Product page and cart · Desktop · Fixes: no price in confirmation

A cart drawer with prices, options and totals

    Before

A popup with the candle's name, scent and size, and buttons for View cart, Check out and Continue shopping.

    After

A “Shopping Cart” drawer listing the candle with “White Is French Vanilla / Small,” an edit icon, the price, a quantity control, the subtotal and total, then Checkout and View Cart.

    Why it works

A shopper building a small gift set sees each candle's price and the running total as they go. If they picked the wrong scent, they can fix it from the edit icon without going back to the product page.

  2. 02 · Product page · Desktop · Fixes: no delivery info near the buttons

Delivery timing, chosen options and a subtotal next to the buttons

    Before

Two dropdowns labeled “Scents & colours” and “Candle size,” quantity, an outlined Add to cart and a pale Buy it now. Nothing about delivery.

    After

Each option label shows the current choice (“Candle Size: Small”), a subtotal updates with the quantity, Add To Cart is the solid main button, and below the buttons the page says “You'll receive your order within the next 8 days after purchase,” followed by a secure-checkout line. A reviews section now sits at the bottom of the page, ready to collect reviews.

    Why it works

A shopper ordering a candle for a birthday next week learns, before adding it, that it should arrive within eight days. Seeing “Small” and “White Is French Vanilla” spelled out, along with the subtotal, means fewer wrong-option orders and no surprises about price.

  3. 03 · Homepage · Desktop · Fixes: placeholder reviews

Placeholder reviews taken off the homepage

    Before

Five cards repeating the theme's sample review, signed “Customer Name.”

    After

The placeholder cards are gone. The homepage now moves from the banner and collections into product rows such as Top Treasures, Candle Bouquet, Cozy Cafe and Cozy Autumn, each with a View All link and the discount shown as a percentage.

    Why it works

A visitor scrolling the homepage now sees the range itself, with clear savings, instead of template text that undercuts the store's credibility.

  4. 04 · Every page, footer and floating button · Desktop · Fixes: no direct line

    WhatsApp on every page

    Before

Social icons and policy links. No phone, WhatsApp or email.

    After

A floating WhatsApp button on every page, plus a WhatsApp number and email address in the footer. The footer also links the shop's categories and a “My Story” page.

    Why it works

A shopper who wants lavender instead of jasmine, or twenty favours for an event, can message the shop with one tap instead of hunting for a social media inbox.

  5. 05 · Every page, header · Desktop · Fixes: header filled the screen

    A shorter header

    Before

A header about 193 pixels tall, plus a scrolling notice bar beneath it.

    After

A tighter logo row and menu row, about 146 pixels together. The cart icon now shows a count.

    Why it works

On every page, the candles start higher on the screen, and shoppers can see at a glance how many items are in their cart.

What these changes are designed to improve

  • More gift orders placed with confidence about delivery timing.
  • Fewer orders with the wrong scent or size.
  • Bigger baskets, with the running total visible as shoppers add candles.
  • More custom and bulk enquiries reaching the shop directly.

Do your shoppers have to guess when their order will arrive?

If your product pages leave out delivery timing or your cart hides the total, we can show you where to start.
